Two out of three ain't bad...

I felt like I was in a lipstick rut.
That's my excuse for this.. lipstick binge is the only thing I think I can call it.

I went up to the counter to pay, with two lipsticks and the girl serving tells me that theres a 3 for 2 on Rimmel.. what do I come back with.. another bloody lipstick.. *Sigh* I am a disaster.

So yeah if you aren't interested in lipstick skip this post!

Here we have Moisture Renew lipsticks in 200 Latino, 600 Soft Coral and 620 Coral Queen
I usually stick with shocking pinks or nudes so this was me choosing something different!! First up is 600 Soft Coral. 7.99 euro each but like I said I got 3 for 2 here.
I was very alarmed by the fact that this is orangey looking in the bullet. There is nothing I hate more than orange lipstick. Ugh. Thankfully this is NOT orange but more of a peachy colour. Happy out so!

I actually quite like it on! Nice and subtle but a change from nude.

Next is 200 Latino.

This is a cool toned deep pink. I didn't expect it to be as pigmented as it was to be honest. It delivers quite a lot of colour and it's quite a dark pink. I'm not sure if this picture exactly does it justice..

Regardless I like it. I think I'll be keeping it for nights out though!

Last and eh least for me anyway is 620 Coral Queen.

Sorry about the blur!

My camera sort of failed me at this point. I just couldn't get it to capture the colour on my lips very well.. Anyway,I really am not liking this colour. It looks like a red-orange to me on my lips. Maybe it's the fact that my skin is paler than pale and the colour just really stands out but I don't think I'll be coming back to this!

But two out of three ain't bad, huh? :)

Spring nails: Catrice Ultimate nail lacquer in Run Forest Run!

I really wanted a nice green for my nails for Paddy's day but couldn't find one anywhere! It's just typical that I find one I love about a week later.

ANYWAY, this is Catrice Ultimate nail lacquer in Run Forest Run! (I'll admit I laughed at the name)

The photo of the bottle is with flash as is the last picture so I think the second picture is a more acurate representation of the colour. The name suggests it's a forest green but I don't know if I would call it that.. it's definitely not mint green either. I'd call it grass green but that's just me! :)

The bottle suggests applying two coats, but to be honest one coat seemed fine to me! I layered on another coat in the hope that it would stop it chipping quickly (A little tip wear 2 days later but that's not bad).

I love the colour (so springtime!) and I was really impressed with the price, 2.79 euros in Pennys for 10mls, considering some of the Rimmel polishes are over a fiver for 8mls. I think I'll be checking out Catrice more often!

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel eyeliner 24hour wear

After hearing about this on the wonderful http://www.beaut.ie/ I knew I had to give it a go. I usually use pencil eyeliner as I find liquid quite tricky to work with  and I can only use it when it comes in a pen! I use 17's Soft liner eye pen in Soft Jet.

I bought this in Boots for the introductory price of 8.99 euros, good really, you are getting gel eyeliner and a brush. Usually I tend to throw away brushes I get with products because well.. they usually suck. But this brush is good, really good.

The gel eyeliner is really easy to use and doesn't drag or crease. It lasts ALL DAY which I was really impressed by. Another thing which I was really happy about was that there was no awful tatooing of the upper eyelids (you know when after a while the eyeliner smudges on the upper eyelid creating a sort of half moon shape that makes you look like a crazy person...)

It's only available in Black for now but I'm sure we will be seeing some new colours soon!

New staple in my make-up bag I think!! :)

Who likes short shorts? .... Not me.

What is it about spring that brings out shorts season? I much rather wearing skirts or lovely dresses.
It's not even that I prefer them, it's.. this is a little embarrassing but.. I'm afraid of shorts.

There I said it.

Shorts completely puzzle me. My childhood memories tell me that back then shorts belonged to summertime, were available in bright neon colours or denim and even then I disliked them. I also dislike showing my legs in them (I'm short I feel they do me no favours!!). And what to you wear with them?? What tops/shoes etc?

However, in the last few years shorts have become ''cool'', a must-have really. Which I em, don't have. I feel like lately every magazine I open features leather shorts as THE item for spring/summer '11. I look at these magazines and these pictures below and I think 'Hmm they do look quite good'..

There's no denying it. They seem to make an outfit effortlessly amazing.

Maybe I could go for a leather skirt instead?!

Ruffles

I like ruffles but I always think they look a little too girly on me... what can I say I'm a girly looking girl already (my powers of description fail I know.. But let's say I'm not edgy looking okay?).

Do I really need ruffles to add to the girlyness? Probably not. So I generally avoid them.

However I couldn't leave this top behind when browsing in H&M (24.95 euros) a few weeks ago. The ruffles are just gorgeous! I can't tell you how many compliments I have recieved about this top, it seems everyone likes ruffles haha!

Essence Lash Mania saves the day!

After my unpleasant experience with Maybelline's The Falsies Black drama I was all out of mascara. Faced with the prospect of NO MASCARA (eek!) I quickly sprinted down to the local shopping centre to find something to tide me over.

The chemist was SHUT. No Rimmel fix then.

I hit Dunnes in desperation, the Rimmel stand was destroyed. However the Essence stand was perfectly untouched (messy testers/children seem to be snobs too haha) so I rushed in that direction and quickly picked up a tube of Essence lash mania ultra volume mascara.

This mascara was only supposed to be a quick fix but now I absolutely LOVE it :) It separates and defines lashes really well. It's not very thickening or densifying but that doesn't really bother me, I still use it for day and night time and it does the job very well.

Did I mention it's only 2.49 euros...? That's me sold! :)

Review: 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive

When I was browsing around the 17 counter in Boots I had a dilemma. I couldn't decide between  this 17 mirror shine lipstick in Flirtini or another interesting shade called Beehive.

I went with the former but after reading the forums on the fabulous http://www.beaut.ie/ where people were raving about this colour I decided I must go back and purchase Beehive. As you do. (I'm a beaut.ie addict, anything they recommend I will happily try out haha)

I'm not exactly sure of the price but it was around a fiver I think.. will update later with exact price! :)

The colour is gorgeous, in the bullet it's exactly the pinky toned nude you see in this pic.

On the lips
It leaves your lips moisturised and glossy without being sticky and I think the colour is perfect for a neutral daytime look or even to pair with smoky eyes at night.
One of my new staple lip products I think! :)

The day the carnival came to town

I love carnivals!
Yesterday a carnival came to my college campus for RAG week and I was so happy! (Yes, I am a child still).
To me carnivals mean 2 things:
1) The Waltzers.
2) Candyfloss

Yes it's true candyfloss sticks to your face. It'll make a mess out of your hair if it's windy. It will ruin your teeth.
And yet, I love it.

Who else loves candyfloss?

I think this is Katy Perry.. if not, it's someone who looks really like her..

Ryan Reynolds
Enough said.

Pikachu

This is not an ad for candyfloss, although it's really beginning to look like one!

If only....
